Picker House Lofts adapted an empty former textile mill in Lewiston’s Continental Mill Complex into 72 brand-new apartments. It’s the first phase of a revitalization of the entire 560,000 square foot complex, the rest of which is being handled by Chinburg Properties of Newmarket, NH. The complex was built in 1855 and at one point employed 1,200 people. By the 1980s, it was largely empty. Picker House Lofts maintained the building’s historic character, while revitalizing the building and area.
A mixed-income property, Picker House is across the street from Lionel Potvin park, abuts the Androscoggin River, and near Lewiston’s Farmers’ Market, local restaurants and businesses, two museums, and the large Simard-Payne Memorial Park with its outdoor fitness court. The property offers 1BR, 2BR and 3BR apartments, with 13 foot ceilings, huge operable windows, and exposed overhead carrying beams. Included in the rent are heat, hot water, an off-street parking space; wi-fi; fitness center in the building; indoor bike storage; and a communal lounge with adjoining roof deck for residents to enjoy views of the Androscoggin River. The building also features a large landscaped courtyard, with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs.
Like all our properties, Picker House Lofts is completely smoke-free.
